Gayle Keck writes frequently for the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. Her stories have also appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, Christian Science Monitor, Denver Post, Seattle Times and New Orleans Times-Picayune.  She currently writes a monthly column for the Washington Post travel section.

 

Her story, “Onionskin,” was selected for the recently published book, Best Travelers’ Tales 2004.

 

Gayle has traveled six continents and over 35 countries – from Argentina to Uzbekistan. In the US, she’s visited 49 states (sorry, North Dakota).

 

Gayle holds a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.  In addition to writing, she has also been a Clio-winning advertising executive, Internet entrepreneur and marketing consultant. 

 

Born in St. Louis, Gayle has lived in Chicago, San Francisco, New York and the Washington, DC., area. She speaks French and a bit of Japanese (but knows her shoe size in at least ten languages).
